Luke Jepple was the man Whiskerino fans loved to hate. He appeared
exclusively in the Horror Canon mostly as the monsters in these
films. This kind of reputation was something that Jepple relished. |

At age six Jepple was brought from France to England as his family returned in
poverty. Jepple's mother found employment as a cleaner for Eileen O'Dwyer who was a
colleague of E.V. Harris. It was through this connection the Jepple got his first
job at age 15. Initially on
Babes in the Arms Jepple made the tea, but
worked his way up to Key Grip by the time the studio closed for the war. |

|
| After service Luke Jepple returned with the acting bug. Using his friendship
with Harris Jepple was able to secure a number of roles in Harris' new project - the
Horror Canon. The roles which Jepple earned were not the leads he had
expected. Jepple became the monster in the films. In his first appearance he
was the creature created by Dr F and Egor in
Wanted: Body Parts. |

| |
|
| Jepple
became stuck in the role, playing the monster / creature in six more films, often under
heavy make up. He was however still able to create three dimensional characters
inspiring fear and pity. Building on this Jepple persuaded Harris to allow him to
play a double role (playing the creature as well) in what would be his final proper
appearance for Whiskerino. His role as Harper was not well received and this lead to
Jepple's move away from Whiskerino. He gave up acting and concentrated instead on
his camera work. He sought funding to set up his own film studio, but nothing came
of it. |

Jepple's final appearance for Whiskerino
after an absence of six years was in fan favourite Hired Spirits. He appeared
briefly at
the end of the film as Chipperstone, the only real ghost in the film. This cameo
appearance was made as a special favour to his friend
Anthony Trenchwood. |
