| There seems to be an unwritten law in
the films that comprise the Horror Canon, and that is if there is a scientist in the film
he or she must be both mad and identified by the initial of their name. |
|
| Dr. F (right) was the first mad
scientist. He worked in his private laboratory deep within the castle on the hill. He
terrorised the local Transelvationers, stealing body parts in an attempt to reanimate his
cousin who still owed him five pounds. |
 |
|
| Egor (right) was the trusted
assistant who aided in all the experiments. His chief duties were placing adverts in
the local newspaper and connecting the electrodes. He had been promised a body
transplant if the reanimation experiments were a success. |
 |
|
| The pair succeed, but the creature
quickly escapes and begins to terrorise the locals. Dr F and Egor are forced to
track him down before the Transelvationers catch up with the monster and destroy him. |
 |
|
| Dr F and Egor appeared together in
two films - Wanted: Body Parts and The Curse of the
Mummy's Comb. Although not credited as such the characters returned one final
time in Hired Spirits as two of the three psychic
investigators. |

Dr L was the mad scientist who
attempted to create a cure for the common cold. When she tested it on Old Tom he
became The Beast With No Nose. |
|
| Dr J was desperately searching for
that hidden ingredient to make the perfect anti-ageing potion. His wife (known only
as Mrs J) was constantly nagging him to create the potion, which he did with disastrous
consequences. |
 |
|
| Dr J and his scheming butler Dunnit
make the potion and trick some unsuspecting villagers into trying it out. The
villagers go wild and create a trail of destruction. |
 |
|
| In The Potion Mixture Dr J
and Dunnit are destroyed by the Transelvation villagers. Despite this there were
plans to make a sequel, but due to other commitments this proved impossible. |
