The last known photograph of

PDA
Kirwan went missing five years ago whilst on a cycle tour
of the Isle of Wight. Can You help us locate him?
Attempts are being
made by local Whiskerino fans to find out what happened to
the famous actor and to see if he still treads the boards
anywhere.
If you think you have
seen PDA Kirwan or know of his whereabouts after 1997 then
contact Dunnit and let him know.
It would be fantastic to have the grand old actor attend this
year's convention, held on his birthday. |
March 2002
A private collector has proposed to us that there should be a limited
screening of some Whiskerino prints in his possession. These include
Ebenezer and Rober's Folly.
If enough interest is generated
by Whiskerino fans then the screenings could take place around the time
of the convention.
Email
us what you think and have your say now.
February 2002
Quiet celebrations were held in February to mark the 74th anniversary
of the studio's opening.
A small group of loyal fans made
their way to the old site of the studios. A presentation was made
by James Kirwan (Chair of the Whiskerino Foundation). Calls were
repeated to revive the studio and begin filmmaking again.
September 2001
The 3rd Annual Whiskerino Convention was held at the end of
August at Marley's House in Littlebourne. This year's theme was
Mad Scientists and all who attended were suitably attired. Photos
will appear here shortly.
Speakers: James Kirwan (Chair
of the Whiskerino Foundation)
Adrian O'Keeffe (ADAC)
Pearl Smith (memorabilia collector)
Joe Flyshuttle (son of Madge Flyshuttle - Whiskerino's top script developer)
Gus Van Gout (camera operator during the 1960s)
Simon Fordice
Amanda Stanwell (author and Whiskerino fan)
plus a special guest speaker Cllr. J. Coinworth-Levington.
July 2001
At the end of May this year Simon Fordice toured the country
again reading from his autobiography "Long time out there in
Egypt and all the rest of it". In a series of lectures
the veteran actor who appeared in several Whiskerino films in the 1950s
and 60s, spoke about his work and friends at Whiskerino Productions.
